The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow now has an accessible room with a ceiling track hoist. The room has been refurbished to a high specification with the following features:

  • 1000mm wide entrance door with delayed door closer
  • Low level eye viewer fitted on door
  • Swipe key operation on door 
  • Low level light switches fitted 
  • Low level hanging rail in wardrobe
  • Easy access floor space around room to accommodate wheel chair
  • Fixed ceiling hoist rail across bed area. P200 Freeway portable hoist available on request ( 1 per room only )
  • Emergency pull cords at beds  
  • Vibrating pillow located at side of bed if required
  • Fire alarm strobe light fitted at bed area
  • Fully compliant DDA wet room with walk-in shower (see pictures)
  • Fixed ceiling hoist rail across bathroom area. P200 Freeway portable hoist available on request ( 1 per room only )
  • Emergency pull cords fitted in bathroom

Crowne Plaza Glasgow under the ownership of Q.M.H. UK Ltd has refurbished two of our larger rooms to accommodate our disabled guests. We have taken the advice of several Disability organisations to achieve a very high standard of accessible room and believe our disabled guests will feel comfortable and safe in this environment.

** Remember to take your own sling! ** Most accommodation providers do not provide you with a sling for hygiene reasons so remember to take along your own and be comfortable in something you are used to. Most slings are'universal' fitting but if you are not sure please contact the accommodation provider.

Excellent room with superb ceiling hoist, very easy to use. Plenty of space in Wet Room. Very impressed with helpful staff. Was told about Refuge area on our floor in event of emergency. This was very welcome and comforting to know about. First ever visit to Glasgow, because of converted room. Will definitely visit again. Lovely city and very friendly helpful locals.
