A ceiling track hoist enables a carer to lift and transfer a patient
from one location to another. It is simple, unrestricted, friendly,
and easy to use. The hoist runs on a static ceiling track which is
customised to your requirements and installed by the Westholme
Survey and Installation departments. All Westholme Ceiling Track
hoists are manufactured to BS EN10535 standards. The hoist is
powered by an on board battery pack and is charged at an in-line
power point. A major benefit to implementing a ceiling track hoist
is that because it is at ceiling level, it is unobtrusive and does
not require storage, making it ideal for areas with limited space.

A ceiling track hoist is quick and easy to use, and is
never in the way, and always where you need it. Because of this
constant availability, it is more likely to be used by carers
than a mobile hoist, which may not be to hand immediately when
it is required.
Positioning a person is easier with a ceiling track hoist.
It eliminates the risk of back injury for carers when performing
a transfer and requires minimum effort to operate . As in most
cases it can be operated by one person, there is much closer
contact between the user and the carer and can be more dignified
in use than other solutions. A person is more easily positioned
using the ceiling track hoist, as they can be raised lowered
turned and traversed with no physical effort from the carer.
It does not take up floor space and is therefore often
suitable for use in restricted areas or toilets/small bathrooms
where a mobile hoist might be difficult to manoeuvre. It does
not have ‘traffic’ problems in moving and is not affected by
different levels of floor or rucks in carpets.
It can lift higher and lower than a mobile hoist: the
same hoist can be used for floor to chair transfer, chair to
shower stretcher, raised bath, or bed.
Ceiling Track hoists are very well received by persons being
lifted in them, who generally feel secure as they experience
no sudden movement. The Freeway has a ‘soft start’ as a standard
feature, which means that the hoist gradually builds up to its
full speed and virtually eliminates jerking.

Multirall can be installed on a rail system in two different ways.

carriage, and Multirall becomes readily portable. In addition, it
enables room-to-room transfers with only one lift unit.
A practical trolley for transfer and storage is available as an

The hoist hangs directly under the rails and lifts the user with the help of a
lifting hanger to which the sling is attached.

The two hoists will be working synchronously, and it will be possible to adjust
them individually for example if there is a need for Trendelenburg position,
together with horizontal lifting. The adjustment can be done via hand control
using the buttons that are normally used for drive/traverse motor.
The GH2 HD Twin can be used together with rail curves, but cannot be used with
combi-locks, switch tracks and turntables.
Max lifting capacity is 250 kg with horizontal lifter and 455 kg with cross
lifting hanger.
