Below are results from our contacts with various tourist authorities around the UK and the rest of the world.

BELGIUM (Flanders)

"As far as we know, Flanders (north of Belgium) has no tourist accommodation equipped with ceiling track hoists. Some hotels or holiday centres will provide mobile hoist systems, others will be fit to install rented equipment, but in our screening reports we haven't found any example at all of the type that you are looking for.
Kind regards"

EGYPT

"Concerning fixed track ceiling hoists, from our experience in Egypt no such hoists are installed or exist in any hotels or accessible accommodation facilities, I have never even seen one in a hospital or a rehab center in Egypt till now, if hoist are used they are portable roller hoists which are most of the time folded and used on demand, even those are none existent is hotels or for rent in the market. sorry,I would have liked to help you more, but here in Egypt the awareness and the facilities are still far behind concerning accessibility and special equipment for the disabled."

CHINA

"For your information, in Beijing, some hotels have several rooms equipped with accessible facilities, such as wheel-in shower, wider door width, lower sink, table etc. Yet, as to the ceiling hoists, as far as we know, there is only one hotel in Beijing which has one room with this facility. The hotel is Swissotel Beijing, which is the official hotel designated by the Beijing Olympic Committee to be used by the disabled athletes for the 2008 Beijing Paralymic Games. So far, around 20 rooms have been adapted for the use of the disabled people. Among the rooms, there is one which has ceiling hoist."
