Ceiling hoists (also known as overhead hoists or ceiling track hoists) save time, provide dignity, reduce risk of injury, provide better positioning, free up space and reduce the number of carers involved.
OT200 Ceiling Hoist - Unique Features
The award winning OT200 Ceiling Hoist is a cost effective, flexible solution that can be installed in virtually any setting.
- Small, compact and white to blend in with their surroundings.
- The only ceiling hoist that has a gravity charging system that charges itself whenever in use, giving up to 50% more lifts per charge. A more cost effect way of hoisting, saving running costs by up to 25%.
- Able to lift/ lower even when the tape is at an angle unlike other hoists.
- The standard cassette will lift up to 200kg (31.5st) and we also have cassettes that will also lift up to 272kg (42st) and 450kg (70st).
- Will lift from floor to ceiling.
- Safe in an emergency. Unlike other hoists it has a no tools emergency down feature where, if in the event of electrical failure, the hoists gives an automatic controlled descent, no need for manual winding down with hex keys etc.
- Bespoke. OpeMed pride ourselves on our turnkey service from design, CAD drawings right through to installation and training.
Automatic Recharging - Hybrid Solution
The OT200 Ceiling Track Hoist automatically recharges itself eliminating the risk of the carer forgetting to return the hoist to the charging point. In addition it gives double the battery life of any other ceiling hoist, as well as reducing your servicing costs and your environmental footprint.
Inbuilt Diagnostics
The inbuilt diagnostics read how often it has been used, adjust the speed up and down as well as along the track and has fault finding if there is ever a problem.
The OT200 Ceiling Hoist has a unique emergency lowering system, that unlike its competitors does not require tools or add-ons, it simply bypasses the electronics and performs a safe and quick emergency lowering at the press of a button.
Options include a powered tilting spreader bar, a power-along-the-rail system (so the hoist is always charged), portable ceiling hoist and a weighscale.
Full Range of Track and Layouts

The OT200 has a wide range of track and accessories to allow the ceiling hoist to be installed in virtually any setting. Our options include room covering systems (also known as xy systems) that can connect up to a neighbouring room with a gate system, tight curves for small bathrooms and a flexible turntable allowing our specifiers to give you a real benefit to the carer and user.
