Whitbread owned Premier Inn are the latest hotel group to start installing ceiling track hoists. Their flagship Olympics 2012 hotel at Stratford East has opened and has a room with a ceiling track hoist available. London Stratford Premier Inn is located directly opposite the Westfield entrance to Stratford International. The hotel is positioned directly above the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, the largest urban shopping centre in Europe boasting 250 shops as well as a 17 screen Vue cinema and the UK's largest casino. This is a fantastic location for events with great road links, just a short distance from Stratford International station and 6 minutes via high speed rail link to St Pancras International station for the Eurostar and main line trains.

Copthorne Tara Hotel

The hotel has ten accessible bedrooms two of which are fitted with ceiling hoists and are all located on the mezzanine floor. All of the adapted bedroom doors open and close electronically, allowing ample time for a wheelchair user to pass through. Door locks are electronically actuated by a key card and the bedside control panels allow operation of the radio, TV and room lights.

These rooms are also fitted with entry phones, which allow verbal communication with someone at the room door prior to opening the door remotely from the bedside and with an emergency call feature from the bedside and another one in the bathroom. For hearing impaired guests, there is a visual alarm system as well as a vibrating alarm which can be fitted to the bed.

• 2 rooms have ceiling hoists and larger bathrooms to better accommodate persons with more severe disabilities.

• Electric ceiling hoist serves bed, commode & bathtub.

• One single bed and two bathroom doors.
